Ethical Dilemmas

Are you engaged in research that demands ethical scrutiny?

Does your research involve ethical dilemmas?

Are you bemused by the process?

Health service researchers are familiar with ethics and associated procedures for scrutiny.  However researchers from other disciplines such as design and engineering who seek to involve older and disabled people in their work are finding that they also have to take ethics into account in study designs. They may also have to engage with established procedures to ensure that ethical requirements are maintained during a project.  This workshop will share and debate the issues involved in working ethically with vulnerable people, children, older and disabled people and through this seek to identify the key requirements for good research practice.

You are invited to submit a poster outlining an example of your own ethical practice with regard to a situation in which you have worked in an innovative way with people in ode to understand their needs and desires.

You can bring the poster with you to the event, they should be no larger that A1. The posters will be reviewed by the speakers and selected examples will be published as part of the event monograph.

Please note that producing a poster is not a necessary requirement for attendance.
