Question time panel: pain and ageing

KT EQUAL has joined with the British Pain Society SIG on older people to host this evening event focusing on growing older with pain through innovation, creativity and development at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in Edinburgh.

Professor Peter Passmore, Professor of Ageing & Geriatric Medicine and Dr Kevin Vowles, Consultant Clinical Psychologist will be giving short presentations followed by a question time panel chaired by Dorothy Grace Elder, journalist and former MSP. Invited guests will be able to put their questions and issues to the five strong panel of experts. The evening will conclude with a drinks reception.

The aim of the evening will be to;

  • Raise awareness of the incidence and impact of pain and related suffering in older age
  • Discuss the role of evidence based interventions in promoting pain management
  • Introduce the idea of technology assisted pain management in older age
  • Debate the role of key opinion leaders in developing strategy for improved pain management
